Bundesliga, Day 30 Report

The first game of the weekend has been played at Friday, Frankfurt visited Monchengladbach. The Eintracht are playing their best season so far holding 8th position before M'gladbach match. One goal by Reus at 6th minute and a great goal by Dante at 56th minute produced a friendly draw and helped Borussia Monchengladbach to stay in the middle of the table.

Berlin against Stuttgart. Both teams have been trying to reach a different goal. Hertha wanted points that would help them to avoid the relegation and VFB wants the last place in Europe League. Cacau goal from 74th minute made the difference.

Mainz against Dortmund. The yellow trrops who are already surprisingly at 4th place still want the 3th place, the last one that could bring Champions League in Dortmund next season. But defeated at Mainz (1:0, Szalai 30 min) their goal is going to be more difficult to reach.

A game between Hannover and Schalke turned into a nightmare for Magath and his troops. Westermann's own goal at 17th min and 12 min later a goal of Didier Ya Konan, produced a solid 2-0 advance for Hannover after first halftime. A 46th min. goal by Edu and a ‘’Elf meter’’ by Rakitic tied the game. Ten minutes before the end Balitsch scored for another Hannover's advance. Second Konan's goal finished visitors hopes for at least a draw at Hannover.

In a game with not a lot of importance, Koln visited Hoffenheim. Two goals from Matuschyk were enough for another away win.

The SC Freiburg hoped that they could bring a good result from Bremen but it was a mission impossible. The superstar line-up of Werder has taken care of the poor defensive of Freiburg. Two goals from Pizzaro, one from Ozil and Hunt produced a very comfortable (4:0) win for hosts..

Every Bundesliga fan waited this game. Bayer Leverkusen against Bayern Munich. The game finished with a solid 1-1 tie. A penalty shot from Robben gave the advantage for the Semi-finalist of Champion League. A nice goal from Arturo Vidal tied the game. We have all expected more but Bayern stars were obiously tired from Manchester game.

On Sunday, Bochum welcomed Hamburg. VFL Bochum is still near the relegation zone so they needed a win or draw for more comfortable rest of the season. Hamburg who just came out of a big success in Europa League continued on their way with a difficult 2-1 win. Robert Tesche scored first but few minutes after Zlatko Dedic tied the game. Two minutes before final whistle a own goal by Andreas Johansson gifted a win to HSV.

The last game of 30th Round was FC Nurnberg against VFL Wolfsburg. During a big part of the game the German Champions were a better team but it was only at 66th minute that Edin Dzeko scored to give the mark. Ten minutes later Grafite produced a nice header to double the score.

Dzeko is now the best scorer of the Bundesliga with 19 goals. Grafite just came out of a big lethargy, he scored only 2 goals in his last 7 games.


The battle continues for the first place as there is only 6 points difference between third Bayer and the leader Bayern Munich. Schalke is second, two points behind Bavarians. Wolfsburg, Stuttgart Hamburg, Bremen and Dortmund are in the battle for 2 Europa League spots. They're all in 6 points.
